Queens Taste exhibits the breadth of options for your Queens wedding

Queens Taste 2014 was held April 29th by the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) and it introduced us to many great and exciting tastes. From the professional catering skills of Amerivents to the excellent Guacamole by La Adelita to the award winning dairy-free ice cream of DF Mavens, this event was one of the best tasting events I've ever been to.

When most brides think about how to cater their event they think of using a catering hall. Queens Taste was hosted by The Sheraton LaGuardia East and they showed off just a taste of their amazing food selection with the most delicious ceviche and huge shrimp cocktail. The Poinciana Tree had a great look too. The place that really stood out, brides take note here, was Amerivents who runs the catering for the Queens Museum and Science Museum. The food presentation was beautiful and the taste to match, (awesome Arancini). To top it off the professionalism of the staff made for a killer package.

Queens Taste proved that every one of these vendors can pull off a party with style and taste. Sushi? Shiro of Japan. Seafood? Murphy's Lobster Grill who won for best appetizer with their local Long Island Bluepoint oysters. Gastropub? The Dog & Duck. Even the Turkish Cultural center can help you get set up for your event while enjoying amazing cookies and Turkish coffee.

Some brides say the most important part of the food is the dessert, well let me tell you that Queens Taste did not disappoint. I mean...who doesn't love Dessert! Queens can rock with the big boys of Manhattan while saving you time and money. We've already talked about the decadent dairy-free ice cream of DF Mavens and ice cream sundae bars are definitely in style for Weddings, but what about everything else? Soul Snacks Cookie Company introduced us to the sweet potato cookie which was definitely worth trying and Rose house has the most adorable cakes to go along with their tea. Perfect for an afternoon wedding outside. Another great Wedding idea was from Chee Bonnet for the Ultimate Cheesecake balls. Your guest will love these little balls full of taste and fun!

All in all Queens Taste shows the wonderful side of Queens. You can have your gourmet and save money too. A NYC wedding doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. Come to Queens and explore what it has to offer and next year try to make it to Queens Taste. Its worth it!
